Mrs. Pearlie M. Perry, the daughter of the late Mr. Johnny Walker and Mrs. Eliza Richardson Walker, was born January 15, 1926 in Summerville, South Carolina. God dispatched an Angel to Summerville Medical Center on March 18, 2009, and Sister Pearlie M. Perry went home to live with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She attended Berkeley County public schools. She was a member of New Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church where she served as a member of the choir until her declining health. She was united in holy matrimony to William Drafus Lawrence and from this union six children were born. She later married Willie Leon Perry and from this union one child was born. Her husband, Leon preceded her to the grave. She also was preceded in death by two children, Vernus "Cootie" Lawrence and John "Pee Wee" Lawrence; three sisters, Wilhelmina Blanford, Lena Walker and Louise Steward; six brothers, Ben, Henry, James, Archie, Wilford and Chalmus Walker; two sisters-in-law, Ernestine Walker and Geneva Walker; three brothers-in-law, David Steward, Otha Walker and Paul Blanford; and two grandchildren, George Walker III and Farrah Walker. Those who will always cherish her memories and keep her in their hearts are: two daughters, Betty Rivers (Roiley) and Eva Winns of Summerville, SC; three sons, William Lawrence and Williard Lawrence of Summerville, SC and Jimmie Lawrence of Charleston, SC; one sister, Petunia Capers (Malachi) of Summerville, SC; three sisters-in-law, Theresa Walker, Albertha Walker of Summerville, SC, and Cassandra Walker of California; 23 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She also leaves to best friends who stood by her side throughout her sickness, Mrs. Mattie Wright and Mrs. Daisy Reed; one special granddaughter who served as a caregiver, Jochosia Quarles; and two special friends James and Ti'jeh Eaton who kept "Mrs. Pearlie", as they called her, in high spirits during her declining health.
