IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pearline S.
Cooper
May 28, 1947 – December 19, 2015
Pearline S. Cooper, affectionately known as "Pearl", was the daughter of Carrie Taylor Singleton and the late Julius Singleton. She was born on May 28, 1947 in Florence, SC. She departed this life after a brief illness on December 19, 2015.
At an early age, she became a member of New Emmauel AME Church. Later in life, she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior. Pearline married the late Clarence Cooper in 1972. The union was blessed with two beautiful children. She later joined Mt. Carmel AME Church where she served as a stewardess and sang on the choir.
She was educated in the Berkeley County Public School System. She graduated from Russellville High School in 1966 and attended Trident Technical College. After 30 years of service, she retired from the Berkeley County Government.
Pearline was known for her famous potato salad. She loved to go fishing and watching college basketball. She loved everyone she came in contact with and always did what she could to help others.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two children, Kevin Cooper of Jamestown, SC and Danielle Cooper of Columbia, SC; her loving mother, Carrie Mae Singleton of Jamestown, SC; three sisters, Maeretta "Retta" Nowling of Jamestown, SC, Patricia (Deacon Willie T.) Brown of Kingstree, SC, and Mary (Thomas) Grant of Jamestown, SC; two aunts, Shirley (Willie) Matthews of Jamestown, SC and Jean Love Taylor of Baltimore, MD; sisters-in-law, Juanita Hamilton, Azalee Green, Emily Jones, Clara Cooper, and Leila Cooper; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A special thanks to her aunt, Shirley Matthews.
Pearline was preceded in death by two brothers, St. Julian Singleton and Benjamin Singleton.
