It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Peter Heyward of Moncks Corner, South Carolina, who passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026.

Mr. Heyward lived a life marked by hard work and simple joys. He worked in construction, a field that reflects dedication, strength, and commitment. Outside of his work, he enjoyed sports and followed basketball, football, and baseball with great enthusiasm. He was especially a true fan of the Indianapolis Colts, a team he supported with pride.

Peter will be remembered with love by his family and friends. He is survived by his siblings, Corine Thompson (Dale), Freddie Wilson (Barbara), Charles Gadsden (Jamela), Samantha Carter (Ron), Bobby Gadsden, and Earl Gadsden (Virginia). He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, along with other relatives and friends who will cherish his memory and hold him close in their hearts.

The family will receive friends at the residence daily from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

A viewing will take place on Monday, November 2, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Gethers Funeral home, 200 Grace Street, Moncks Corner, SC. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., at the O. Allen Gethers Memorial Chapel, Gethers Funeral Home, 200 Grace Street, Moncks Corner, SC. Burial will follow in Old Nazareth Cemetery, Pinopolis, SC.

As those who knew and loved Peter remember his life, they will carry forward memories of his steady presence, his enjoyment of sports, and the connections he shared with family and friends. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
