Phoebe L. Beauford, the daughter of the late Jerome and Hannah Nelson, was born on September 30, 1939, in Alvin, South Carolina. God called her home from her earthly home early Wednesday morning on February 5, 2015. Phoebe, also known as "Henrietta", graduated from Russellville High School in 1957 and received certification in Nutrition from Clemson Extension Program. She did further studies at the College of Charleston. She retired from the Berkeley County School System as an Education Aide. At an early age, she was converted and baptized at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Alvin, South Carolina. On August 24, 1957, she was united in holy matrimony to Earl Beauford. From this union four children were born. Phoebe was a devoted wife and a supportive mother. She was a member of Liberty Reformed Episcopal Church where she served faithfully in various committees and also as secretary for many years. Phoebe had a natural gift for home décor, a love for antique furniture and restoring relics to treasure. On any given day you would find her working in her many flower beds. She shared her gifts with all she came in contact with. Phoebe leaves to cherish her precious memories: a loving and devoted husband, Rev. Earl A. Beauford; her children, Dr. Wayne Beauford of High Point, NC, Lenoir (Theodore) Graham of Manassas, VA, Melissa (Stanley) Stewart of Dallas, TX and Percy Beauford, Esq. of Goose Creek, SC; eight grandchildren, Kendra, Demetrius (Shanna), Sheena, Isaiah (Gerrica), Percy Jr., Devin, Nickolas and Dorien, three great grandchildren, Jaiden, Ziyah and Ariah; one sister, Olivia Beauford of Alvin, SC; eight sisters-in-law, Lillie Mae Nelson of Baltimore, MD, Leoma (Leroy) Bennett and Delaine Doctor of Charleston, SC, Delores Rowlette and Julie (Abraham) McConnell of Baltimore, MD, Sylvia (William T.)
