Prophetess Florence Odell Brightman Fludd was born April 29, 1933, in Cordesville, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Frank and Nancy Brightman. She attended public schools in Berkeley County and graduated June 3, 1952, from J. C Burke Industrial School, Charleston, SC. Prophetess Florence Fludd moved to New York, NY, in 1954 and married Willie Lee Fludd on February 19, 1956. Prophetess Florence Fludd taught at Robert F. Kennedy Day Care in Brooklyn, NY. She and Bro. Fludd received certification to become Foster Parents from The Department of Social Services/Special Services For Children, May 20, 1977. They continued to care and nurture children until 1994. While living in New York, Prophetess Florence Fludd attended First Church of Brooklyn #1 COGIC where she joined and received the Holy Ghost under the leadership of the late Bishop Frank Clemmons and Bishop Itheil Clemmons. She was a Prayer Warrior, on the Mother's Board and sung in the Celestial Ambassador's Choir. Under their leadership, she grew in the gift in the knowledge of the gifts that God has placed in her life. To enhance her knowledge, she attended various schools and seminaries: United Christian College The Northern District of The United Holy Church of America, Inc., Bachelor of Religious Education, May 7, 1977; Bachelor of Theology, April 28, 1979; General Survey Course of Bible Study/New Institute of Bible Studies, May 20, 1972; Christian Workers Course of Bible Study/New Institute of Bible Studies, May 7, 1977. The Lord called Prophetess Florence Fludd to relocate to Cordesville, SC, in 1988 to The Ministries Of Truth Tabernacle. She was a faithful Missionary, Evangelist, Church Mother, member of the Mother Board, Prayer Warrior, Intercessor, active in Sunday School and later ordained Prophetess. She was an interior decorator, designer and seamstress; she was like Dorcas of the Bible. She was also known for her sense of style, hats, suits, shoes and bags, etc. Every year Prophetess Florence Fludd would attend the Holy Convocation of the Church Of God In Christ (COGIC) held in Memphis, TN. Prophetess Florence Fludd was also given the Attestation of Pilgrimage by the Holy City, Capital of Israel, henceforth authorized to bear the title of Jerusalem Pilgrim. Prophetess Fludd operated in these capacities until her health began to fail. Those left to cherish Prophetess Florence Odell Fludd loving memories are: her loving and devoted husband, Willie Lee Fludd of Cordesville, SC; and their children: Anthony (Robin) Fludd of Hampton, VA; Wilma Denise Fludd of McDonough, GA; Valerie Renee Fludd of Moncks Corner, SC and Travis Willie Fludd of Cordesville, SC; one sister, Victoria Dixon of Cordesville, SC; two brothers, Herman Brightman of Central Islip, NY and Norman (Margie) Brightman of Smithtown, Long Island, NY; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one uncle, Charlie Green and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and the First Church COGIC family of Brooklyn, NY who have been blessed with her presence.
