IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Queen Ester
"Jimmysue" Garnett
January 12, 1954 – August 21, 2024
Queen Ester Garnett, lovingly known as Jimmysue to her family and friends, was born on January 12, 1954, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, a daughter of James Garnett and Albertha Brown Garnett. On August 21, 2024, she peacefully transitioned from this life at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital, Charleston, SC.
Jimmysue was a vibrant soul who had the unique gift of brightening every room she entered. She had a passion for cooking, and her love for good food was as abundant as the love she had for children. To her, children were a treasure, and she created a haven for them, where they were free to laugh, play, and be themselves. In Jimmysue's eyes, her home was their home, a place where they were always welcome and where joy and laughter filled the air.
Her love for family and friends was evident in the way she lived her life. Whether it was a cookout, a party, or any gathering, Jimmysue was the life of the event, bringing joy, laughter, and warmth to all those around her.
Jimmysue will be remembered for the love she gave and the lives she touched.
Jimmysue leaves to cherish her memory her beloved sons, Rickie Garnett (Jeanette) and Maurice Garnett; adopted son, Toby Brown; special sons, L. T. Brown and Damon Brown; her loving sisters, Margie Garnett (her backbone) and Clara Mae Lynch; and her dear brother, Ronnie Dubose. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren: TJ Garnett (Shannon), Jamai Garnett, Kevin Garnett, Jazmine Garnett, Kayson "Boss" Garnett, Kanya Thomas, Khole M., Zada Brown, Diamon McNeil, Jalah Garnett, and Andree Garnett; and her cherished great-grandchildren: Xy Keeve, Amir, Donny, and Tega. Additionally, she is survived by her devoted daughters-in-law, Alverta Jenkins-Garnett and Gretta Garnett, her special nieces, Latasha S. Thomas and Lynette Thaxton; her best life-long friend, Nathaniel Grant; and a host of extended family and friends.
Jimmysue was preceded in death by her two sons, Jerrell Garnett and Thyrone Garnett. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
