Quincey Cortez Theirse, Sr. , the oldest child of Cellamena Wilson Theirse and the late Mr. Glenn Theirse, was born on December 24, 1976 in Charleston, South Carolina. On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, he was called home to be with the Lord at Agape Hospice Care (Trident Medical Center) in North Charleston, SC.
Quincey was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County and was a 1995 graduate of St. Stephen High School. In high school, he was a Lieutenant of the JROTC. After graduating high school, he continued his education at Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina.
Quincey started his Christian journey at Good Shepherd Reformed Episcopal Church in Bonneau, South Carolina. He was later baptized and confirmed as a member of Messiah Reformed Episcopal Church, Pineville, South Carolina.
Quincey was employed in various occupations: Manager at Cactus Car Wash & Detailing in Charleston and West Ashley, Eric Prioleau Carpeting, Dillard's Department Store in the Shoe Department, Charleston Sofa Super Store, and a chef at various restaurants in the Charleston and Moncks Corner areas.
Quincey enjoyed cooking/grilling, fishing, detailing cars, a passion for planting flowers, and riding his scooter. Also, he enjoyed fixing things around the house.
Quincey was married to the former Melanie Koenig, and to this union, they were blessed with four (4) children.
Quincey was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Theirse, his grandfather, Foster Theirse, and grandparents, Woodrow Wilson, Sr. and Estelle R. Wilson.
Quincey leaves to cherish his fond memories: his mother, Mrs. Cellamena Wilson Theirse; children, Quincey Cortez Theirse, Jr., Jocelyn Marie Theirse, Nathan Isaac Theirse, and Makayla Renee Theirse; siblings, Glendrick Dewayne (Terreka) Theirse and Tiffanie M. Theirse; grandmother, Mrs. Albertha Theirse, and Grandaunt, Mrs. Dolly Bell Theirse

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, February 27, 2023, 12:00 p.m., at Messiah Reformed Episcopal Church, 3133 Highway 45, Pineville, SC. Interment will be in Mexico Cemetery. Viewing will be held Sunday, February 26, 2023, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the funeral home (Moncks Corner).
