IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rainey President
Middleton
September 24, 1935 – August 9, 2024
Mrs. Rainey President Middleton, born on September 24, 1935, in Cross, South Carolina, was the beloved daughter of the late Virginia Green Washington and the late James President. Later in life, she made her home in Bonneau, South Carolina and was united in holy matrimony with Dan Middleton, who preceded her in death.
A faithful member of Good Shepherd Reformed Episcopal Church, Rainey served as a mother of the church.
Rainey had a passion for life's simple pleasures. She found joy in fishing, singing, and gardening. Her fondness for a bucket of KFC chicken paired with a Mountain Dew, as well as her love for macaroni and cheese, were cherished treats that brought her happiness.
Above all, Rainey treasured her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Caroline Middleton and Beatrice Middleton, and one son, James President.
On Friday, August 8, 2024, Rainey departed this life at Oakbrook Nursing Home in Summerville, South Carolina.
Rainey leaves to cherish fond memories: four daughters, Bettie Jean President, Burney Bell President, Alfreda President, and Annette Middleton; two sons, Fred President and Alfred President; 13 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Mr. Isaac McCray; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
