Obituary

"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies." Proverbs 31:10

On June 5, 1925, Mother Rebecca Warren entered into the world. She was the eldest of twelve children born to the late Abraham and Elouise Frazier. She was raised on a farm in McBeth, South Carolina and helped out in her father's store. Mother Rebecca was a very insightful child who saw the struggles that her parents were experiencing and began working at a very early age, doing house keeping and working in her Godmother's store in Charleston, SC.

Mother Rebecca gave her life to Christ at an early age and became a member of the Anderson Baptist Church where she served on many auxiliaries.

In 1945, at the age of 20, Mother Rebecca met and married Mr. Willie H. Warren. To this union, seven children were born. She took her role as a parent very serious. She was a strong advocate of education. She pushed her children to be the best and to do their best.

In 1948, Mother Rebecca attended a mid-wife program in Columbia, SC, and became a mid-wife. Because of her strong belief in education, she went back to school and graduated in 1968 from the Berkeley Training High School, along with her daughter Margaret. Mother Rebecca became employed for the Town of Moncks Corner Police Department where she worked until her retirement in July 1990.

Always a lady of grace, style and confidence, she continued to encourage everyone to reach for the stars.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Willie H. Warren; son, Theodore Warren, daughter Gladys M. Johnson, son, Michael "Tony" Warren and granddaughter, Shanekqua Hartwell.

Those left to cherish her loving memories are: her children, Dorothy Warren, Margaret (Harold) Bowens, Vanessa Warren Rogers and Alice Sherine Warren; son-in-law, Edward Johnson; adopted son, Clifton Simmons; sisters, Isabelle Hightower, Lillian Limehouse and Mary (Richard) Washington; brother, Joseph (Hessie) Frazier; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Warren, Marionette Frazier and Sarah Frazier; brother-in-law, Raymond Abrams; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren; two godchildren, Maurice Carson and Larry Gibbs; lifetime friends, Mrs. Lillie Mae Jasper and Mrs. Ella Mae Owens; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
