"A time to be born and a time to die..." - Ecclesiastes 3:2 Regina "Carolyn" Powell Ceacal, the daughter of the late Robert Russell and Alice Powell Shaw McKnight, was born on April 19, 1938 in Charleston County, SC. On February 12, 2012 with an angel whispering in her ear, Regina, aka "Carolyn", answered the roll call of Jesus and went home to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. There is a time for every purpose under Heaven: Carolyn graduated from Lincoln High School in 1956. She volunteered for the United States Air Force. Carolyn served her country proud and received an Honorable Discharge. She attended Adelphi University in Brooklyn, NY and Trident Technical College in North Charleston, SC. Regina became a member of Greater Mt. Zion AME Church at the age of twelve. She worked under the guidance of Sister Patsy Gillyard as a Junior Usher. She worked faithfully in her church. Regina served in the following capacities: President of the Senior Usher Board, the Layman Organization and Youth Choir, Co-Director of the YPD, Vice President of Senior Choir #2, Leader of Class No. 9 and member of the Senior Steward Board. She worked faithfully until her health began to fail. A Time to Love: Regina was united in Holy Matrimony to Deacon Junior Ceacal. A Time to Be Blessed: Regina and Junior was blessed with three children: Derrick Ceacal, Jacqueline C. Manigault and Ronald Ceacal. A Time to Work: "Ceacal" was employed with the Charleston County School District for 25 years before she retired. She enjoyed every minute of it. She said the children kept her young and on her toes. Regina always counted it as a blessing when a student would stop by to say hello or saw her in the store and say, "Mrs. C., lunch is on me today or meet my family." She said knowing that she helped mold a child in a positive way, always made her feel good.
