Regina R.
Green
October 18, 1949 – December 15, 2019
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Regina Rosetta Green, daughter of Sam and Rosa Lee Palmer Green, Jr., was born on October 18, 1949 in Jamestown, South Carolina. She departed this life on Sunday, December 15, 2019 in Shulerville, SC at her residence.
Regina attended the public schools of Berkeley County, graduating from Russellville High School in 1968. She also took classes at Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
"Gina" as she was affectionately called by her family, accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Wesley African Methodist Episcopal Church, Shulerville, SC, where she was a lifetime member for 70 years. She originally joined under the leadership of the late Talmah Davis and after his passing she joined Class #2, under the leadership of Sister Vivian P. Nole. Gina loved Christ, her family, her church and her community. She was very active in the Sunday School, serving as Secretary and she served as President of the Senior Usher Board until her death. She was also a former member of the Trustee Board and President of Wesley's Health Ministry.
Regina had a special place in her heart for children and the elderly. She may have only birthed one child, but she helped rear a community of children. She also had a special Birthday Ministry singing "Happy Birthday" early in the morning to family and friends. "GiGi" had a smile that would light up a room! She also loved reading her Bible, doing crossword puzzles and ministering to all in need.
Regina was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Terry Lee Green, Sharon Maybank and Anita Ann Bowell.
Regina's living legacy includes: a devoted loving daughter, DeVette L. Green; three sisters, Marilyn M. Manigault of Baltimore, MD, Lynne M. Green of Shulerville, SC and Valerie G. (J.
