Wait on the Lord and be of good courage, and God will strengthen your heart" - Psalm 27, selected verses Richard Ricardo Major, known to many as "Ricky", was born on July 3, 1959 to Rebecca Major Brown in Berkeley County, South Carolina. He was reared as the child of the late Harry Major and Geraldine Baylor Major from birth to adulthood. He resided in many locations, as the Majors traveled and lived on military installations throughout the United States, finally residing in Moncks Corner, SC. He attended public schools and received his training in the Job Corps for Auto Mechanics. Ricky received additional training in Boston, MA for this trade. Ricky was employed for many years as a mechanic for Wright's Garage in Charleston, SC and continued this work until his health declined. He also attended Wesley United Methodist Church at a very early age until the Majors moved to Fort Benning, GA. He departed this earthly life on Saturday, July 21, 2012. He leaves fond and precious memories to: his mother, Geraldine B. Major of Moncks Corner, SC; his siblings, Dell Marie (John) Williams of Jacksonville, FL, Harrietta (Falvie) Jones, Larry Thomas Major of Moncks Corner, SC, Anthony Johnson of Florida, Gwendolyn Richardson and Denise Hamilton of Moncks Corner, SC; a loving and devoted friend and caregiver, Anne Sinclair; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
