Richard Sanklin Myers was born November 27, 1954 in Charleston County, SC, a son of Victoria Myers and the late Richard Singleton, Sr.  He departed this life on March 1, 2017 at his residence in Myrtle Beach, SC.

"Sal", as he was known to family and friends, received his education in the public schools of Charleston County. He served in the Army National Guard for 20 years to include a tour of 18 months in Afghanistan.

Richard was a kind person who was willing to help others. He will be remembered for his love of children, basketball and jokes.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Victoria Myers of Georgetown, SC;  sisters,  Elaine Myers of Georgetown, SC, Octavia Singleton and Betty Singleton both of Greenwood, SC;  brothers, Vernard (Debbie) Myers of Georgetown, SC, Allen (Barbara) Myers of McClellanville, SC, Wayne Myers of Georgetown, SC, Warren Singleton of New York City, NY, and Patrick Singleton of Myrtle Beach, SC; aunts, Carrie Johnson, Eassie Singleton and Susie Dowe all of Myrtle Beach, SC;  uncle, Rivers (Janice) Dowe, Jr. of Myrtle Beach, SC; five special cousins, George Myers and  Olander (Sharon) Myers both of Huntsville, AL, Oneil Myers and Lester Myers both of McClellanville, SC and Alonzo Myers of Columbia, SC; special friends, Jimmy Black and James Green; and  a host of nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.
