He was the son of the late Johnny and Estell Morrison Redd. Richard attended the public schools of Berkeley County, graduating from Russellville High School in 1968. Richard, who we lovingly called Neal, grew up attending Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church, Jamestown, SC, where his grandfather, the late Rev. John Morrison ministered. Neal enjoyed hunting, fishing and socializing. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always willing to help others. He loved kidding and joking with both family, friends and even strangers. Neal acquired his CDL license and drove 18 wheelers for a period of time where he became known as "The Big Money Man." He was a cancer survivor for eight years. His health continued to decline and God called him home on Sunday, June 1, 2014. Neal was preceded in death by his son, Brandon Redd. Neal leaves to cherish his memories: three children, Ronald Ramsey of Spartanburg, SC, Marvis Myers of Columbia, SC and Corey Myers of Jamestown, SC; his siblings, Shirley Carroll of Boston, MA, Catherine Ellis of Moncks Corner, SC, Geneva Redd of Pikesville, MD and Thomasina Redd of Charleston, SC; two aunts, Lillie Young and Adline Washington both of Maryland; one uncle, David Morrison of Maryland; six grandchildren; a very special cousin, Jerry Morrison; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
