With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Mr. Ricky Nelson of Moncks Corner, SC, who departed this life on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

Ricky will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was known for his joyful spirit and passionate praise—his voice often lifted in shouts of worship at Wesley United Methodist Church.

He leaves to cherish his memory: four sons, Stephen Ferrette and his wife Unique Myers-Ferrette, Ricky Nelson, Jr., William Nelson, and Matthew Nelson; grandson, Stephen Ferrette, Jr.; his sister, Wanda Nelson; a host of nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart; and a host of cousins, friends, and his beloved church family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sophie Nelson, and his brother, Barry Nelson.

A viewing will be held Sunday, March 9, 2025, 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, March 10, 2025, 11:00 a.m., at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1008 Sugar Hill Drive, Moncks Corner, SC. There will be no viewing after the service. Burial will be in Old Nazareth Cemetery, Pinopolis, SC.
