Robert Auston
Johnson
Aug 21, 1988 — Aug 2, 2026
Raleigh, NC
It is with heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of Mr. Robert Auston Johnson of Raleigh, North Carolina, formerly of Moncks Corner, South Carolina.
Robert Auston Johnson, the son of Robert Lee and Deborah Anne Brown Johnson, was born on August 21, 1988, at Trident Hospital in North Charleston, SC. He departed this life on Sunday, August 2, 2026. He was a sweet, timid little boy who grew into a fine young man.
Auston joined Anderson Baptist Church at an early age and was a very active member, serving as a Junior Usher and a member of the Youth Choir. He loved the Lord and served faithfully.
Auston attended school in Berkeley County and was a proud member of the Berkeley High School Class of 2006. Following graduation, he briefly attended Trident Technical College.
During his high school years and through 2010, Auston worked alongside his father at Robert Johnson Masonry. He was a devoted son, nephew, grandson, cousin, and friend who always greeted others with a smile. He loved playing basketball and was an avid fan of both the NBA and the WNBA.
Auston later relocated to Rocky Mount, North Carolina, where he worked with Wood Group, assisting with solar panel installations. He was also employed by Cooper Electric in Raleigh, North Carolina, and later by HardHat Staffing Agency, where he worked as an Electrical Helper.
Auston was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Aicia Dionne Johnson; three uncles, Derry Johnson, LeRoy Johnson, and Freddie Johnson; and one aunt, Gladys Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his parents, Robert and Anne Johnson; his stepsister, Trellany Simmons; his aunts and uncles, Grace Brown, Ralph Brown, Jr., Jean Brown, Cleve Garvin, Janice Johnson, Solomon Johnson (Audrey), Sarah Lyles (Willie), Edward Johnson, Geraldine Johnson, Louelle Johnson (Vann), and Cheryl Graham (Bernard); along with a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Funeral arrangements will be announced on a later date.
Please continue to keep the Johnson family in your thoughts and prayers during this time of bereavement.
