Robert Rodney Rivers, the son of Ruby Reid Rivers and the late Robert Rivers, was born April 5, 1966, in Charleston, South Carolina. He was reared in Moncks Corner, SC. At an early age, Rodney joined Anderson Baptist Church, Moncks Corner, SC. There he met and received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. Rodney received his education in the Berkeley County School System, graduating in 1984. He was employed as a landscaper for many years until his health began to decline, and he was no longer able to work. Rodney was always a quiet person and stayed around home. He enjoyed fishing. Rodney was married to Sandy Allen for about 10 years. On Saturday, July 21, 2012, the roll was called. When Rodney heard his name, he answered and went home to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife; his mother, Ruby Rivers; his daughter, Cassidy Rivers; three aunts, Dolly Brown of Moncks Corner, SC, Deloris (Ronald) Wedderburn of Summerville, SC, and Hattie Washington of Columbia, SC; eleven uncles, Elias Reid of Deerfield, FL, Eugene (Viola) Reid of New Jersey; Leroy (Deloris) Reid of Conway, SC, Leroy Haynes of Moncks Corner, SC; Isaiah Myers of Moncks Corner, SC, Edward (Mary Lee) Rivers of Mt. Holly, SC, Rev. Willie Dean (Linda) Rivers, Kenneth (Wanda) Rivers of Moncks Corner, SC, Rev. Arthur (Lula) Rivers of St. Stephen, SC; Daniel (Bernice) Rivers of Columbia, SC, Alphonso (Barbara) Rivers of Lawrenceville, GA; a very special friend, Kimberly Adams; and a host of cousins and friends.
