Rosa Lee Poinsette, daughter of the late Samuel Allen Theirse and Carrie Wilson, was born January 2, 1941 in St. Stephen, South Carolina.

Rosa received her education in the Berkeley County public schools and was a 1957 graduate of  Russellville High School. She was employed by Airovox which later was renamed CR Bard, Inc.

Rosa accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She attended Freedom Temple Holiness Church, St. Stephen, SC. She enjoyed singing and talking about Jesus. She was known as the "Singing Lady" at the Nursing Home.

Rosa was united in holy matrimony to Richard Poinsette. This union was blessed with six children. Her husband preceded her in death.

Rosa was a member of the non-profit organization "Small Town Restoration, Inc." in St. Stephen, SC. She planted flowers and displayed United States Flags in town for different holidays.

Rosa had several hobbies to include: fishing, planting a vegetable garden, solving word search and crossword puzzles and sight-seeing. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She will be remembered for her warm smile, her kind spirit, and her unwavering faith in God.

On Sunday, October 25, 2020, Rosa entered into eternal rest with the Lord at PruittHealth-Ridgeway, Ridgeway, SC.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Aundrea Ravenell (Jacob, Jr.) of St. Stephen, SC, Richardeen White (Bishop Herbert) of  St. Stephen, SC, Alicia P. Lonzo of Orange Park, FL, Rena S. Poinsette of Atlantic Beach, FL, Brenda Speights (Patrick) of St. Stephen, SC and Rickey Poinsette (Sylvia) of St. Stephen, SC; 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Jane "Gale" King of Newark, NJ and Patricia Husser of Kingstree, SC; stepmother, Mrs. Dolly B. Theirse of Pineville, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A WALK-THRU VIEWING will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Gethers Funeral Home, 200 Grace Street, MONCKS CORNER, SC.

A PRIVATE Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, October 29, 2020, 11:00 a.m. at Gethers ST. STEPHEN Chapel, 221 Church Road, ST. STEPHEN, SC. The service will be LIVE-STREAMED on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/gethersh
