Sadie Vanish Bryan, a daughter of the late Rufus Vanish and Mozelle Frazier Vanish, was born on August 20, 1941 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. She departed this life on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Sadie received her education in the public schools of Berkeley County, and was a 1960 graduate of Berkeley Training High School. After graduation, she relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
On August 5, 1961 in New York, Sadie was united in Holy Matrimony to Elie Bryan. This union was blessed with three children. The couple settled in Philadelphia where they raised their children until returning home to Moncks Corner in August of 1978.
Sadie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Her family gave her great joy throughout her life. She enjoyed traveling and visiting with them. She will be remembered for her kindness, gentleness and compassion.
Sadie was preceded in death by her siblings, Gertie Mae McNeil, Rufus Vanish and Luther Vanish; parents-in-law, Willis and Harriett Bryan McFadden and Richard Rivers; brother-in-law, Ed Smalls; and an uncle, Rev. David Manigault.
Those who will forever cherish her precious memories are: her loving husband of 55 years, Deacon Elie Bryan; children, Jacqueline (Donald) Stevens, Ernie (Joyce) Bryan and Troy Bryan; grandchildren, Marcus Stevens, Krischele (Harry) Nick, Adam C. Bryan and Jordan Bryan; great-granddaughter, Olivia Lynn Stevens; sisters, Albertha Smalls, Ann (Henry) Wilson, and Ruth (Cleveland) Pompey; brothers, James Vanish, Charles (Joyce) Vanish and Archie (Loretta) Vanish; aunts, Roxcena Vanish, Dorothy Reed Frazier, Nettie Bryan, Nancy Manigault and Rebecca Pough; uncles, Isaac (Willie Dell) Vanish, Deacon Solomon (Mary) Bryan and Arthur Lee Rivers; sisters-in-law, Delores Vanish, Debbie McFadden, Letitia McFadden and Denise McFadden-Stewart; brothers-in-law, Charles McNeil, George (Janice) McFadden, James (Joyce) McFadden, Fred McFadden and Jerry McFadden; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
