Sadie Milligan, the daughter of James and Irene Green, was born on September 10, 1923 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina .
Sadie was educated in the Berkeley County School District. She was employed as a Housekeeper for Dr. Lacey for many years.
She was united in holy matrimony to Louis Grant. This union was blessed with two daughters, Susan and Frances. She later was married to Arthur Pete Milligan. Both husbands preceded her in death.
Sadie accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She joined Moncks Corner A.M.E. Church and served faithfully as a member of the Senior Choir and the Stewardess Board until her health declined .
Sadie loved to go fishing. She was also an excellent cook. She was famous for her homemade cheese biscuits.
On Tuesday, August 23, 2016, Sadie peacefully slipped away into eternal rest.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: two loving daughters, Susan Grant and Frances Grant Taylor; three grandchildren Paula Singleton (Tommy), Allison Gadsden (Ira) and Jovonn Sumter; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; a very special son, William Lacey, Jr. (Ruthie) of Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Sadie was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Andrea Taylor Wright; and a long time friend, Annie Mae Heyward.
