Sam Middleton, son of the late Ellic and Rebecca Middleton, was born November 6, 1949, in Berkeley County, South Carolina. Sam peacefully passed away on June 24, 2024, at his residence in St. Stephen, SC. Sam attended Russellville High School and received Machinist training at Job Corps in Washington. He proudly served in the United States Army and worked as a Machinist at the Naval Base in Charleston, SC, later retiring from the Langley Air Force Base Commissary in Hampton, VA. Upon returning home, he enjoyed driving for Senior Catering in St. Stephen, SC.

Sam was an enthusiastic sports fan, especially cheering for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. He also cherished watching baseball and spending time fishing. A collector at heart, he amassed collections of baseball cards, comic books, and coins. Known for his passion for grilling, though he burned everything, Sam's culinary adventures were a source of joy and laughter.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Ellic and Rebecca Middleton, as well as his sister Linda R. Middleton and brothers Roy, Nathaniel, Steven, and Alex Middleton Jr.

He is survived by his sons Jerriot Glencamp of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Antonio (Tarsheika) Myers, grandchildren Kaidyn and Maria, siblings Willie (Sheryl) Middleton, Mary Bishop, Barbara (Robert) McHoney, and Joseph (Karen) Middleton, and cherished aunts Edna Thompson of Moncks Corner, SC, and Janey Middleton of San Diego, CA, along with numerous extended family members and friends.

Sam Middleton's life was marked by his dedication to family, service to his country, and his vibrant spirit. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at O. Allen Gethers Jr. Memorial Chapel, 200 Grace Street, Moncks Corner, SC. Interment will be in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, St. Stephen, SC. Viewing will be held Friday, June 28, 2024, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the funeral home (Moncks Corner facility). There will be no viewing after the service on Saturday.
