Obituary

Sam H. Legree, son of the late Eddie and Carrie Gould Legree, was born on August 1, 1929, in Pineville, SC. He departed this life on November 11, 2017, at his residence.

"Orange", as he was known to family and friends, received his education in the public schools of Berkeley County, SC. He served his country in the United States Army. After his honorable discharge, he relocated to Chicago, IL.

Sam was united in holy matrimony to Beulah Hamilton. This union was blessed with four children. His wife, a daughter, Cynthia, and a son, Maurice, preceded him in death.

Sam was a caring and loving person. His favorite routine was to sit on the porch every morning with a cup of coffee. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and loved Cadillacs.  He will be remembered for his kindness, gentle spirit, and his love for his family.
