With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Mr. Samuel Darby of St. Stephen, SC, the widower of Mrs. Diana Green Darby. Mr. Darby departed this life on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at his home.

Those left to cherish his memories are: his daughters, Gailya D. Warren of Hartford, CT and Cheryl Samira Darby of Zurich, Switzerland; his sons, Franklin E. (Iris) Darby of Tampa, FL and Michael D. (Vivian) Darby of Hartford, CT; twelve grandchildren; sisters, Delores Darby of Lake City, SC, Linda D. (Fred) Wilson of St. Stephen, SC; Marie D. (Beamon) Hubert and Evangeline (Rev. Bennie) Moorer of Far Rockaway, NY; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Darby, Oprah Darby, Julia Darby, Frances Darby and Thomasina G. Wilson; brother-in-law, Edward (Lorraine) Green; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Sam was preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Darby Jackson; his brothers, Albert, Edward, Delmas, Moses Alton, Archie and Donald Darby; and his stepmother, Corine Paulin Darby.

Viewing will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2022, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Gethers St. Stephen Chapel. Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, May 4, 2022, 2:00 p.m., at Gethers St. Stephen Chapel, 221 Church Road, St. Stephen, SC. Face masks are required. Interment will be in Mack Zion Cemetery, St. Stephen, SC.
