Sandra "Kay" Perkins was born on August 30, 1956 in Carthage, North Carolina. She was daughter of Betty Kelly and James Lassiter.

Sandra , affectionately called "San", graduated from North Moore High School. She later served six years and one day in the United States Army. "San" enjoyed reading, shopping, babysitting, planting flowers and taking care of elderly people. San also had a great sense of humor and would often be found sitting outside, making her family and friends laugh.

" San's" greatest and most precious pastime was spending time with her children and nine grandchildren. She spent a lifetime helping and caring for others. She would sometimes take the Link Bus to travel to Bonneau to come spend the day with her lovely sister Mary Greene. She will be truly missed by many far and near.

Sandra departed this life on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at her residence in North Charleston, South Carolina.

She leaves to forever cherish her memories: her significant other of eighteen years, Wayne Wheeler; her children, Andre Perkins, Percy Gethers (Tayla), Cindy Gethers (Rodney), Allen Gethers, and Marquitta Rowser; a very special friend and father of her children, Henry Gethers; aunts; Annie Nealy (James) and Sharon Kelly; uncles, Robert Kelly (Shirley), Tommie Kelly (Altheia), Pete Kelly (Kathy) and George Kelly (Vickie) all of North Carolina; special siblings, Mary Greene, Linda Morant (Larry) of Bonneau, SC, Bernard Kelly, Ronnie Kelly of North Carolina,  Alfred, Cazzie and Chavis Gethers all of Bonneau, SC; a very special niece, Anna Greene of St. Stephen, SC;  two special friends, Angie and Stacey Williams; special aunts; Lillian McCray and Joyce McCray; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Sandra was preceded in death by a son, Quentin Gethers.
