Her house was the Number One "hangout spot", where everyone came from far and near to experience her hospitality, love and GREAT cooking. She was known for her famous lemon meringue pies, peas and rice, turnip greens, banana pudding and the list goes on and on. She was affectionately called Momma Sarah by the young people in her community. Sarah would often say, "I'm painful but I'm thankful to God." For she knew in life there would sometimes be many challenges and many pains to bear, to which she experienced in her latter years with her health. But no matter what, she kept her faith and trusted in the Lord to the very end. "...O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way, Leaning on the everlasting Arms Safe and secure from all alarms. Leaning on the everlasting arms." That was Sarah's mantra as she prepared to meet the King.
