In spite of everything, she dealt with over the past two years, she never lost faith in God and knew that one day He would heal her body. In 1983, Shelby's Beauty Salon was established. There she touched many lives, making people feel beautiful inside and out. Her passion for hair inspired her to share her talents by instructing students at Williamsburg Technical College. Jean loved to dress from her head to her toe. For every suit that she owned, she had a purse, shoes, and hat to match. Because of her lavish dress style, she was known as the DIVA of the family. Jean was a phenomenal woman with many talents. She loved to sing and could sing any song even if she didn't know all the words. With everyone that she encountered, she left a smile that would never be forgotten.
