Shepard Earl Davis was born to the late Deacon Leroy Davis and Sister Elizabeth Dingle Davis in St. Stephen, SC July 19, 1944. Two sisters and six brothers preceded him in death. Shepard Earl Davis ended his earthly journey early Tuesday morning, June 11, 2013 at Trident Medical Center, Charleston, SC. Earl received his education in the Berkley County School System. He accepted the Lord into his life and was baptized at Holy Rock Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 17. Earl then relocated to New York City in September of 1964 and worked briefly for Lefrak Construction. He was an active member of L.I.U.N.A. Local 60 for 46 years and was employed for Petrillo Contracting in Westchester, NY where he retired after over 30 years of service. On March 30, 1968, he was united in holy matrimony with Robersena Addison, and to this union, they were blessed with three children. He made a career in heavy construction, however, he also enjoyed mechanical work, fishing, bowling, grilling, entertaining and socializing with family and friends. He always put family first and was dedicated to keeping the Davis family together. He leaves behind to cherish his loving wife of 45 years Robersena, two daughters, Keisha (Troy) Matthews, Freeport, NY, Dr. Claudette (Ahmad) Gaskin-El, Waldorf, MD, and one son, Shepard Rusty Davis, Jr., Jamaica, NY; two grandchildren, Niya Matthews and Talasia Matthews, Freeport, NY; one mother-in-law, Florine Addison, St. Stephen, SC; one brother, Sylvester (Vernell) Davis, St. Stephen, SC; adopted sister, Jean Hill; five sisters-in-law, Naomi Davis, Manhattan, NY, Carol Davis, Cambria Heights, NY, Thelma Davis, Jamaica, NY, Betty Davis, Travelers Rest, SC, and Ruthine Finley, St. Stephen, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
