Obituary

Shiasia Hopkins was born on December 19, 1991, to Crystal Hopkins and Jerry Lee Rivers in Columbia, South Carolina. On Tuesday, December 24, 2024, Shiasia transitioned peacefully, surrounded by the love of her devoted husband, John Lee Croker Jr., and her caring mother-in-law, Katrina Croker.

Shiasia spent much of her childhood in Columbia, SC, where she created many memories that shaped her. She attended Lower Richland High School in Columbia, SC. Later, she married her soulmate and began a new journey in Russellville, SC.

In the early stages of her career, Shiasia found great fulfillment in customer service, appreciating the opportunity to help others. Later, she became a security officer with Allied Universal, where her dedication to protecting people and fostering a safe environment demonstrated her caring nature and commitment to the well-being of others.

Shiasia had a deep passion for cooking, especially baking, which brought her immense joy. She also enjoyed traveling and making special memories with her family and friends, treasuring the time they spent together. As a devoted homemaker, she lovingly crafted blankets, hats, and scarves with great care, pouring her heart into every stitch. Shiasia believed in making a house feel like a cozy loving home filled with warmth and kindness. Her true self shined brightly in her roles as a wife, daughter, sister, and friend, showing how much she cared for the people in her life. Her loving spirit touched everyone around her.

The cherished memories of Shiasia's life and the profound legacy she leaves behind will forever be remembered by many. She is survived by her loving husband of 11 years, John Lee Croker Jr. of Russellville, SC. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandfather, Robert Hopkins; mother, Crystal Hopkins; father, Jerry Lee Rivers; and stepmother, Melissa Rivers, all of Columbia, SC. She will be missed dearly by her mother-in-law and dear friend, Katrina Croker, of Russellville, SC; sister, Morgan Hopkins; stepsister, Tel'Asia Rivera both of Columbia, SC; sisters-in-law, Jonna Lea Croker and Janell Willis (Deryck) of Russellville, SC; grandmother-in-law, Ethel Gethers of Alvin, SC; her best friend, Mary Goggins of Columbia, SC; special nieces, Janyla Croker and Amorah Brown, and special nephew, Robert Brown III. Shiasia will also be missed by many other relatives and friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and kindness.

Shiasia was preceded in death by her cherished grandmother, Sally L. Hopkins, who lovingly raised her and was a profound source of love and support throughout her life. She was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, John Lee Croker Sr.; grandparents-in-law, Tassie and Sarah Croker; and Clarence Gethers.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, 11:00 a.m., at Bethel Miracle Temple Church, 1017 Bethel Road, St. Stephen, SC. The viewing will be at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Zion Mack Cemetery, 629 Beulah Tabernacle Drive, St. Stephen, SC.
