S h irley Gummer was born on August 29, 1940, in Charleston, SC. She departed this life on November 20, 2015, in Mt. Pleasant, SC.

She attended St. James Reformed Episcopal Church in Cordesville, SC, which is presently Jehovah-Jireh Life Ministry.

Shirley had a kind and gentle spirit. Her beautiful smile could light up any room. She was full of love and joy and touched the lives of many.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Simmons Ford Mack and Solomon Ford; and her brother, Conner Lee Ford.

Survivors include her siblings: Marie Johnson of Connecticut, Cora Williams of California, John A. Mack of Atlanta, GA, Solomon Ford of Florida and Lavonia Stagg of Summerville, SC; special cousin, Frances Garvin of Charleston, SC; adopted mother whom she called "Mammy", Martha Sullivan of Moncks Corner, SC; several nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
