Obituary

Behold I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:50-51 On Sunday, February 9, 2014, Solomon heard the voice of Jesus call his name, he answered the call to enter into eternal rest. Solomon Levy Jr., affectionately known as "Teet", was the son of the late Solomon and Julia Levey. He was born on August 2, 1943 in Moncks Corner, SC. Solomon was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County and was a 1963 graduate of Berkeley Training High School. Shortly after graduation, Solomon faithfully served his country, and was a veteran of the United States Army. He aided in the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969, and was a member of the DAV (Disabled Veterans of America). Solomon was also a commercial painter; and formerly was employed with Westvaco Corporation. He was a man who knew no stranger and was well known for his generosity. Many can attest to the occasions when Solomon was readily available to offer assistance in times of need. Some of his favorite things to do was spending time with his grandchildren, having fun with family and friends, fishing and watching old western movies. He leaves to cherish his memories three children, Joseph Romero Heyward (Ilesa), Myra Williams, both of Moncks Corner, SC and Marcus (Amy) Levy of Bloomington MN; one brother, Earl (Anna) Levy of Moncks Corner, SC; six sisters, Lila Mae President of Charleston, SC, Nancy Levey, Inez Levey, Geneva L. (Walt) Fleming of Moncks Corner, SC and Linda L. (Bennie) Shell and Stella L. (Grayling) Harper of Goose Creek, SC; twelve grandchildren; three great grand-children; one aunt, Ida Nelson of Cross, SC; a special nephew, Galvin Nelson of Charleston, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Fred Nelson; and one grandson, Kristin Marion.
