John 3:16 Mrs. Sophie Davis Adams, a daughter of the late Herbert and Sarah Davis, was born on June 22, 1933 in Union County, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest with the Lord at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Lake Moultrie Nursing Home, St. Stephen, South Carolina. Sophie attended the public schools of Union County, SC. She was married to John Henry Adams. She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting and sewing. Sophie was a woman of faith. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 23. She praised the Lord through her singing. Sophie had a special gift of nurturing and caring for children. She was blessed with fifteen (15) children; four preceded her in death. She was faithful in the home and provided warmth and comfort for the family. She instilled Christian values in her children and taught them the importance of being kind and compassionate towards others. Sophie will be remembered for her loving heart, her words of wisdom and her gentle spirit. She will forever be missed by those whose lives she touched. She leaves to cherish her memories: her children: Thomas Lee Adams, Frank L. (Ophelia) Adams, Rachel Milligan, Henry Adams, Jr., Earnest (Eva Mae) Adams, Owen Adams, Vergie Mae Butler, Silas Adams, Clarence Adams, Sadie (Michael) McKelvey and Prophetess Reatha (Al) Limehouse; a grandson she reared as her own, Jabori Adams; sisters, Elsie D. Rice and Carrie D. Richardson; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
