Stella Jean Richmond Boyce, who was affectionately called "Nana" by her grandchildren and "Munchkin" by her great-grandchildren, made her transition to eternal life peacefully while surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, February 27, 2015. She was 87 years old. Stella, also known to many as Jean, was born on June 10, 1927 in Cordesville, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Joel Richmond and Georgianna Borden. Stella began her education in the Cordesville school system, and then completed high school in Brooklyn, New York. Stella had a long tenure at Irving Trust Bank on Wall Street in New York City where she was employed until retirement. She started in an entry level position and climbed the ladder culminating to Vice President of Human Resourcesalways helping friends and family with job opportunities. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Harry Gordon Boyce, who preceded her in death. This union was blessed with two daughters, Yvonne Stella and Louise Kim. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Joel, Mabel, Olive and Anna and a special niece, Gwen Reid Timmons. Stella was a beautiful woman with a big personality, who was also talkative and helpful. She loved to travel, shop and visit the casinos. Stella was very much a people person. Stella Jean Boyce touched the lives of all who met her. Among those who will be forever grateful for the life that she lived are: two daughters, Yvonne and Kim Boyce; four granddaughters, Laverne Pierce, Shani Summer Garcia, Indyia Davis and Naykia Almestica; nine great-grandchildren, Airelle, Danielle, Michael, Dashawn, Dominique, Camryn, Eric Jr., Caden and Ethan; three brothers, Albert Richmond and Stanley Richmond both of Cordesville, SC and George Ballard of Tampa, FL; a host of very special and loving nieces, nephews and cousins; a very special first cousin who was more like a sister, Maggie; a very special niece, Josephine Reid Cruse; special family friend, Peggy Timberlake and the residents where he resided.
