Susie  J. Beard was born on August 1, 1917, in Louisville, Kentucky.  She was the daughter of the late Willie Ester Grider and Isaac Johnson.  She was raised in Louisville, Kentucky, where she attended the local schools.

On May 11, 1963, Susie was united in matrimony to Willie R. Beard. In 1992, they relocated to Moncks Corner, South Carolina where she spent the next 25 years.

Susie dedicated her life and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on December 5, 1970.  When Susie relocated to South Carolina, she became a member of the Moncks Corner Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Susie is survived by a daughter-in-law, Iza M. Barton of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Phillip R. Barton (Cheyrl) of Massachusetts, French M. Barton (Laura) of Woonsocket, Rhode Island and Lisa R. Barton of Moncks Corner, South Carolina.

Susie was also blessed with one great-grandson, French M. Barton, Jr., as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
