IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tanique B.
Broughton
August 1, 1975 – December 8, 2021
On a warm summer day, August 1, 1975, Tanique B. Broughton was born in Bronx, New York, a daughter of the late Maxwell Broughton and Evelyn Broughton. She quietly transitioned into eternal life with the Lord on December 8, 2021 in Goose Creek, South Carolina.
Tanique was educated in the Catholic schools. She attended St. Peter and Paul Elementary School and Aquinas High School in Bronx, NY, an all-girls Roman Catholic High School. She attended Hunter College where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
Tanique was a faithful member of Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church in Manhattan, NY. She served on several choirs, attended Sunday School, and played the piano for Sunday School.
Tanique was always gainfully employed in the health care industry and held positions with several companies, including Harlem Hospital, MUSC, Hill-Rom, and American HomePatient.
Tanique, along with her parents, relocated to Goose Creek, SC in 2000. Upon her arrival to South Carolina, she joined God's Way World Outreach Church, Mt. Pleasant, SC under the leadership of Pastor Helen Kinloch. She was a songbird on the Praise Team and Choir. She was a loyal supporter of all ministries at God's Way World Outreach Church.
Tanique had a passion for designer purses. She enjoyed fine dining, shopping, and Starbucks. She really enjoyed service at her church, singing, listening to music, travelling, and watching her favorite television programs. She stayed connected with family and friends near and far via social media, telephone and personal visits. Her friends and family could always count on her for directions to different places and restaurant recommendations.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and devoted mother, Evelyn Broughton of the home; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends; Godchildren, Quana Alford-Brown, Londyn Johnson and Justin Chandler; God-sister, Felicia Dailey; Godfather, Prezzie Frank, Jr.; and her church family.
