He was the son of the late Rebecca and Charlie Reid. "Jelly Roll", as he was known to family and friends, received his education in the Berkeley County schools. He was employed in the construction industry for 40 years. Theodore was united in holy matrimony to Aslee Nettie Wheeler on April 10, 1949. This union was blessed with nine children. One son, Gerald, preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by four siblings. Theodore was a member of Greater Emanuel A.M.E. Church where he served on the Usher Board in his early years. "Jelly Roll" answered to many names: "Daddy", "Papa", "Unc", "Sweet", "JeRo", "Roll" and "Reid". "Jelly Roll" loved his family. He always looked forward to family fellowships especially during the Fourth of July holiday. He will be remembered by those whose lives he touched. "Jelly Roll" departed this life on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Moncks Corner Medical Center, Moncks Corner, SC. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 65 years, Aslee Nettie Reid; daughters: Idabelle W. Butler (Ben), Evelyn Edgerton (Maurice), Mildred Smalls (Richard) and Cynthia Reid; sons: Henry L. Wheeler, Theodore Reid, Jr. (Carolyn), Jerry Reid (Doreen), Jimmie Reid and Dexter Reid (Twylia); a special daughter, Lou E. W. Greene (George); daughter-in-law, Kim Reid; brother, Alfred Reid (Susie); sister, Alonia Frazier; two aunts, Geanata Evans and Lottie Hamilton; his oldest grandchild, Colleen Wheeler; 32 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren; two special nieces, Doretha and Olympia; a long time friend, Joseph Gray; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. ****************************************************************** To leave an online memorial message for the family, please click on 'SIGN GUESTBOOK'.
