On Tuesday, March 22, 2022, God claimed His gift to humanity and called home His beloved child, Theresa Walker. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ermine Bellman.
Theresa was educated in the Charleston County School System.
Theresa accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Greater St. James where she sang on the Senior Choir, served on the Usher Board and Senior Ministry. She was an active member of Greater St. James African Methodist Episcopal Church for over 70 years.
Theresa was joined in holy matrimony to the late James Allen Walker for over 60 years. This union was blessed with seven children.
Affectionately called "Tudie" by family and friends, Theresa will be remembered for her love of people and compassion for helping others.
Theresa's memories will be cherished by: devoted children, Elenora (David) Fashion of Moncks Corner, SC, Gertie (John) Cobin of Newport News, VA, Elaine (Donald) Hamilton of Moncks Corner, SC, Nathaniel Walker of Columbia, SC, Bernice (Daniel) Rivers of Columbia, SC, Judy (Tony) Smith of Summerville, SC, Benjamin (Cathy) Walker of Summerville, SC; two sisters, Beatrice Canty and Shirley Green both of Charleston, SC; one brother, Thomas (Carolyn) Bellman of Charleston, SC; one sister-in-law, Petunia (Malachi) Capers; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Viewing will be held Sunday, March 27, 2022, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside service will be held Monday, March 28, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at Greater St. James AME Church Cemetery, 1831 Jedburg Road, Summerville, SC, with viewing from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Please wear a face mask and practice social distancing at all services.
The family will receive friends at 1117 Manigault Drive, Moncks Corner, SC, Wednesday through Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please wear a mask when visiting the home and be mindful of COVID-19 precautions. The family is grateful for your prayers and understanding during this difficult time.
