Obituary

Thomas Sansbury, known to many as "Tee", was born on September 13, 1942 in Darlington, South Carolina to Kathleen Sansbury and the late Fred Sansbury. He departed this life on Friday, June 25, 2010 at Roper Berkeley Medical Center, Moncks Corner, South Carolina. Thomas was educated in the public schools of Darlington County. In 1965, he moved to New York to start a new life. Over the years he gained many skills and trades. He was employed at Acme Steel Drum Company and he retired from there in 1993 after 26 years of dedicated service. In 1984, he became a member of Progressive Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a Deacon. In 1995, he decided to move back to his home state of South Carolina. Thomas knew that in order to receive his new home in Heaven, he needed to rededicate his life to the Lord. On May 2, 2010, he decided to give his life to the Lord, by joining Liberty Reformed Episcopal Church and accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior. Thomas battled strong for a year of sickness and pain with a smile on his face and encouragement that everything would be alright. Music, laughter, entertainment, dancing, style and spending time with friends and loved ones were his favorite things to do. Thomas' life legacy will live on through: Jeannette Dilligard, partner for 30 years; two daughters, Cathy Sansbury of Beaufort, SC and Felicia Frazier (Tyrone) of St. Stephen, SC; four grandchildren, Timothy Sansbury of Columbia, MD (raised as a son), Trenton Benn of Madison, NJ, Tiara Benn of Atlanta, GA and Tydasia Frazier of St. Stephen, SC; his mother, Kathleen Sansbury of Darlington, SC; two brothers, George Sansbury and Gene Sansbury (Sylvia) both of Darlington, SC; one sister, Francina Sansbury (Karl) of Bowie, MD; two sisters-in-law, Patricia Peoples of Camden, SC and Nora Bell Greene of Timmonsville, SC; two brothers-in-law, John Peoples of Columbia, MD and Henneby Peoples of Timmonsville, SC; a goddaughter, Joylyn Damon; a special cousin, Lewis Damon; a special in-law, Gladys Taylor (Robert); a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
