Thomas Vega, son of the late Porfirio and Juanita Vega, was born September 18, 1951 in Guayama, Puerto Rico. He departed this life on June 18, 2016 at his residence in Summerville, South Carolina.

Thomas was reared and attended school in New York.  He was employed at New York Columbia Presbyterian Hospital as a Medical Records Supervisor until he retired.

After retirement, Thomas relocated to South Carolina.  He was united in holy matrimony to Gwendolyn Crawford.

Thomas accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.  He attended Greater Emanuel A.M.E. Church with his wife.  His favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalm and his favorite prayer was The Lord's Prayer.

Thomas enjoyed sports and was a fan of all of the New York teams.  He also loved photography, decorating,  and music.  He had a gentle spirit, and he could brighten any room with his smile.  Many lives have been touched as a result of Thomas' generous and kind heart.  He will be missed.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife, Gwendolyn "Tubby" C. Vega; daughters, Kristina Vega and Bianca Vega; stepdaughter, Minister Linda Crawford Howard; two grandsons; sister, Rachel Vega; mother-in-law, Nettie L. Bachus; special cousins, St. Clair Rivers, Jr. and Jerome Fludd; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
