"Tj" Droze, Jr.
August 20, 1990 – October 28, 2020
Travis Tyrone Droze, Jr., affectionately known as " TJ" , was born in North Charleston, SC on August 20, 1990 to Travis T. Droze, Sr. and Shelia Doiley Droze. He transitioned from time to eternity on Wednesday evening , October 28, 2020 at his residence in Goose Creek, SC.
TJ received his formal education in the Berkeley County public school system. He graduated from Stratford High School in 2008 and continued his education at USC Aiken, Aiken, SC.
TJ was a people person who was loved by everyone he met. His famous quote was: "A stranger is just a friend I haven't met yet"! Cooking was his passion; KFC was his first opportunity to put his skills to the test. He later moved to Applebee's, Daniel Island Grill (DIG) Restaurant, O'Charley's and Carolina Ale House. He was also given the opportunity to open a new Ale house in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was currently employed at Steel City Pizza Co. in Summerville, SC where he enjoyed meeting new people (he loved everyone).
TJ, at an early age, joined Greater St. James AME Church where he was a member of the United For Christ Choir, the Junior Usher Board, Young People's Division (YPD) and the Debutante and Masters Commission (DMC) where he served faithfully for many years. He touched the lives of many in his community and his church. To know him, was to love him.
Those who shared the joys and sorrows of life with him are: his loving parents, Travis and Shelia Droze; one sister, LaCandria D. Droze; grandmother, Leona W. Doiley; and a host of aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
TJ was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Charles J. and Gladys Droze, and Lewis J. Doiley; and one aunt, Sharon B. "Bunny" Doiley.
Viewing will be held Monday, November 2, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. His Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2020, 11:00 a.m., at Greater St. James AME Church Cemetery, 1831 Jedburg Road, Summerville, SC. There will be a viewing from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. As per CDC guidelines, please wear a face mask and practice social distancing at both the viewing and the service.
