Vernell Frazier President, affectionately known as "Vern", was born April 10, 1949, in Moncks Corner, SC.  She was the daughter of the late Arthur Sr. and Dorothy B. Frazier. Vernell departed this life on Sunday, November 5, 2017, in Rock Hill, SC at her daughter's home.

She graduated from Berkeley Training High School in 1966 and furthered her education at Claflin University, Orangeburg, SC, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.

In 1971, she was united in holy matrimony to Jerome President and was blessed with three children.  Vernell was a reserved woman who had a beautiful spirit and kept a smile on her face.  She was kind, but very candid. She loved spending time with her family and traveling.  Vernell loved children dearly, enjoyed teaching and made sure that her students excelled.

After 30 years of teaching, she retired from Berkeley County School District in 2001.  Vernell taught at Marrington Elementary, Berkeley Elementary, and Berkeley Intermediate schools.  Shortly thereafter, she returned back to the classroom, teaching at Miracle Academy in Russellville, SC, for an additional eight years.

Vernell was an active member of Moncks Corner AME Church where she served as a Steward, Class Leader, a member of the Daughters of Sarah Allen, and a Stewardess (Board #2) until her health declined.  Vernell was a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

She leaves to cherish her beloved memories: her husband, Jerome President of the home; three children, Dereck (Nicole) President of Philadelphia, PA, Kenyard President of Moncks Corner, SC and Erica President of Rock Hill, SC; two stepchildren, Maurice (Yuki) Pinckney of Okinawa, Japan and Dorita (Kevin) Zeigler of Raleigh, NC; two brothers, Arthur (Rev. Robin) Frazier Jr. and Al Frazier all of Moncks Corner, SC; four aunts, Daisy B. Mazyck, Alonia Frazier, Lillie Frazier all of Moncks Corner, SC and Lillian Frazier of Bristol, PA; six grandchildren, Anastasha Willis, Michal President, Kayla Zeigler, Kyle Zeigler, Hemi Pinckney and Angel Pinckney; three brothers-in-law, Enouch President, Sylvester President and Reginald President; four sisters-in-law, Vera P. Frazier, Brenda President, Sheryl President and Evelyn President; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
