On August 31, 1957, Veronica F. Gadsden was born in Berkeley County, South Carolina, a daughter of the late Fred Gadsden Jr. and Nellie Wright Gadsden. Veronica, better known as "Ronnie", departed this life on June 20, 2011 in Charleston, SC. Ronnie received her education in the Berkeley County School System. She graduated from Berkeley High School. She later attended the Job Corps where she received training in Nurses Aide. Ronnie had many passions and hobbies. She loved travelling and reading her bible. Ronnie was a loving and kind person who loved her family dearly. Ronnie was united in holy matrimony to Jay Parris. She leaves to cherish her fond memories: her husband, Jay Parris; three daughters, Tamika Gadsden and Tyheishia Gadsden of Moncks Corner, SC, Kentraya Gadsden of Dallas, TX; two sons, Kenneth J. Smith of Moncks Corner, SC and Dextorist Timmons of Fayetteville, NC; two grandchildren, Kenneshia and Jaylen Smith of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Janice Smith (Leonard) and Samantha Gadsden Palmer of Moncks Corner, SC; five brothers, Henry "Ricky" Gadsden, Bobby Gadsden and Earl Gadsden of Moncks Corner, SC, Alfred Gadsden of North Charleston, SC and Charles Gadsden of Goose Creek, SC; two stepsisters, Corine Thompson (Dale) of Moncks Corner, SC and Patricia Heyward of Newark, NJ; three stepbrothers, Peter Heyward, Elijah Wilson and Freddie Wilson (Barbara) of Moncks Corner, SC; four aunts, Ernestine Gadsden and Charity Gadsden of Moncks Corner, SC, Ethel Wright Robinson (Floyd) and Ollie M. Jones of Savannah, GA; one uncle, Matthew Atlas (Allison) of North Charleston, SC; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
