Wilhelmina Cooper Brown , a daughter of Louise G. Myers and Eddie Cooper, was born April 10, 1921 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. She transitioned to eternal life with the Lord on Saturday, February 6, 2016 in Moncks Corner, SC. She was affectionately known by many names, such as: "Momma", "Grandma", "Grandma Mae", "Mommie Mae", "Mae", "Aunt Mae", "Cousin Mae", "Miss Mae", "Miss Brown" and the one she loved most - "The Biscuit Lady."

Wilhelmina received her education in the Berkeley County Schools. She was employed by the Berkeley County School District as a cafeteria cook. After her retirement, she continued to be productive. She worked part-time at McDonald's and was famous for her biscuits.

Wilhelmina was united in holy matrimony to James A. Brown, Sr. This union was blessed with five children. Her husband and one daughter, Rosalyn Alfreda Brown preceded her in death.

Wilhelmina was a member of Mt. Carmel African Methodist Episcopal Church where she served faithfully on Stewardess Board No. 1. She also was a Sunday School scholar and attended every Sunday until her health declined. She was a member of the NAACP.

Wilhelmina loved to give and was always giving. She bought groceries for families in need and paid electric bills for people. Individuals known to be ill would receive bottles of juice, latter dubbed "Get Well Juice."

Christmas was always special. She gave family and friends bags of fruits based on the size of the family. She generously made annual donations to at least 20 churches around the Moncks Corner area. When asked how churches were chosen to receive the Christmas gift, she said when she found out that the church or someone in the church helped someone in need, she made a donation. Wilhelmina continued her donations until her 91st birthday.

Wilhelmina will be remembered for her loving smile, her words of wisdom and encouragement, her love, kindness and compassion for others, and her unwavering faith in God.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her children, Mrs. Erbie M. B. Grate of Columbia, SC, Mr. James A. Brown, Jr. (Beverly) and Mrs. Sandra V. B. Holland (Douglas) both of Moncks Corner, SC and Mr. A. Kenneth Brown (Linda) of Columbia, SC; grandsons: Mr. Michael C. Selby (Cheryl), Mr. Christopher Y. Selby (Karen), Colonel Kelvin L.
