Willard Leon Lawrence, son of the late Willard Perry and Pearlie Perry, was born on April 26, 1952 in Berkeley County, South Carolina. God called His angel home in the early morning on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at his residence.

Willard or "Rocky", as he was passionately known, was educated in the Thomas Jefferson School Systems.

Rocky was united in Holy Matrimony to Frances Walker. From this union, they were blessed with a daughter. After their marriage ended, he met and fell in love with Mary Dol Mitchum and they were blessed with a daughter on July 12, 1986. In 2002, Rocky met Cheryl Mazyck. From the time they met until his passing, these two were inseparable. During their 18 years together, they went through many obstacles and losses but the love they shared made it that much easier to get through.

Rocky loved the Lord and was a member of Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, where even through his ailments, her served Him graciously.

Rocky was a loving, caring person. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He always had a smile on his face and a cool, distinctive laugh that would light up a room. Just an all around cool, lovable, shades-wearing man. That was him, that was our Rocky!

Rocky was preceded in death by: his daughter, Farrah R. Walker; sister, Betty Lee Rivers; and three brothers, William Lawrence, Jr., Vernus Lawrence and John Lawrence.

Rocky's memories will always be cherished by: his devoted lifetime partner, Cheryl D. Mazyck; loving daughter, Shaniqua Nelson; one sister, Eva Winns all of Summerville, SC; one brother-in-law, Roiley (Loretta) Rivers of Goose Creek, SC; one aunt, Petunia (Malachi) Capers of Summerville, SC; two grandchildren; two special cousins, Royal Walker and Alphonso "Pop" Walker; a special friend, Alfred Simmons of Summerville, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
