William Matthew Attles was born May 15, 1947, a son of the late Mr. Fred Gadsden and Ms. Alice Green of Moncks Corner, SC. He departed this life on December 2, 2020 at his residence in North Charleston, SC.

William received his education through the Job Corp program. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Banks Construction Company and Gulfstream Construction Company.

William was united in Holy Matrimony to Alice B. Attles on December 30, 1995. She preceded him in death.

William attended Greater Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church, Charleston, SC.

William leaves to rejoice in his memory: four children, William B. Attles, Allison Taylor, Shawn Reynolds and Aneathia (S.T.) Walker all of Moncks Corner, SC; four sisters, Ernestine Gethers of Atlanta, GA, Ethel Roberts and Ollie M. Jones of Savannah, GA and Patricia Payne Attles of Brooklyn, NY; twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; in-laws, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred Gadsden, Jr. (Eva), Jimmy Gadsden and John Attles; and four sisters, Alma Gadsden, Frances Johnson, Barbara Delores Attles and Debra Attles.

A Walk-Through Viewing will be held Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Graveside Services will be held Monday, December 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Old Nazareth Cemetery, Pinopolis, SC with viewing from 10:30 until the hour of service.
