William Canty was born to the late Mary Smith in Berkeley County, South Carolina on September 1, 1926. He departed this life on July 8, 2014 at Lake Moultrie Nursing Home, St. Stephen, South Carolina. "Bill" as he was affectionately called, attended the public schools of Berkeley County. He served in the United States Army. He was married to Geneva Brown on November 19, 1949. She preceded him in death. Bill was a very kind hearted and caring person who showed love to everyone that he met. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
