William "Bill" Gethers, born on September 9, 1938, in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, was the son of Oliver and Jaunita Barr Gethers. On October 4, 2024, at Trident Medical Center, Charleston, South Carolina, Bill peacefully transitioned into eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love and fond memories.

Affectionately known as "Bill," he received his education in the Berkeley County public schools. A passionate sports fan, Bill found joy in watching football and baseball, cheering on his favorite teams—the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Hawks. He also had a love for food, and some of his favorite treats included KFC, bananas, and fried fish.

Preceding Bill in death are his parents and beloved siblings: Thomas Lee Gethers, David Moultrie Gethers, Earvin Yeadon, Elias Yeadon, and Ella Mae Woods.

Bill's memory will be forever cherished by his surviving siblings: Doris Jones (Victor), Patricia Gethers Cobb, Susie Gethers, Wynette Simmons (Roger), Viola Aiken, Rosalyn Martin (David), Lorine Courtney, Donald Yeadon (Vivian), Harry Yeadon (Bertha), Delmar Yeadon (Joyce), Elder George Yeadon (Colette), William Yeadon, and Michael Yeadon (Jacqueline). Bill's extended family of nieces, nephews, and friends hold dear the moments shared with him, as they grieve his loss but celebrate his life.

A special expression of gratitude is extended to his devoted niece, Jacquater Varner. Her tireless care, compassion, and love provided Bill with comfort during his final days. Her unwavering support will be forever treasured by the family.

May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory continue to warm the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

A viewing will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024, 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at Christianity Holiness Church, 495 Wall Street, Moncks Corner, SC, with viewing from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. There will be no viewing after the service. Burial will be in Old Nazareth Cemetery, Pinopolis, SC.
