Obituary

William "Deek" Lawrence, Jr., son of the late William Drayfus (Elizabeth) Lawrence and Pearlie (Leon) Perry, was born on October 30, 1944 in Berkeley County, South Carolina. William was called to his Heavenly home on the early morning of Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Trident Regional Medical Center, Charleston, South Carolina. William was educated in the public schools of Berkeley County. William, often called "Deek" or "Jr." had a kind soul and sweet smile that was loved by many. He worked faithfully in the logging industry for many years. He was a member of Messiah Church of Deliverance. In the late 1960s, William met and fell in love with Ms. Mary Frazier. This relationship blessed him to be a father of four children. In addition to his parents, William was also preceded in death by two brothers, Vernus and John Lawrence. William leaves to cherish his fond memories: four children, Mr. Willie Frazier, Ms. Lisa Frazier, Mr. Melvin Frazier and Mr. Jimmy Frazier all of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters, Betty (Roiley) Rivers and Eva Winns both of Summerville, SC; two brothers, Jimmie (Carol) Lawrence and Willard Perry both of Summerville, SC; three aunts, Petunia (Malachi) Capers, Theresa Walker and Albertha Walker all of Summerville, SC; one uncle, Paul Blanford of Staten Island, NY; fifteen grandchildren; four cousins he raised as his own, Laurie Ann Smith, Lisa Mae Hunt, Cornelius Perry and Connie Perry all of Summerville, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The sixty-six years spent with William will always be cherished and never forgotten. William is now home with the one that loves him best.
