Obituary

Brother Willie Fludd was born on September 22, 1930, in Moncks Corner, SC. He was the son of the late Elizabeth (Lola) Wilkins and Paul Fludd of Moncks Corner, SC.

Brother Fludd attended public schools in Berkeley County. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged and awarded the Purple Heart.

Brother Fludd moved to New York, NY, in 1954 and married the late Prophetess Florence Odell Brightman on February 19, 1956. To this union they were blessed with four wonderful children: Anthony, Wilma, Valerie and Travis.

Brother Fludd obtained part-time employment in the New York City Public School System working as a cashier in the cafeteria. He was employed full-time at the United States Postal Service until his retirement in 1988.

While living in New York City, he was a member of the First Church of God in Christ in Brooklyn, NY under the pastorage of the late Bishop Frank Clemmons and Bishop Ithiel Clemmons. It was at First Church where he gave his life to the Lord. He was a member of the Men's Usher Board and was blessed with a high vocal voice and sang in the Adult Choir.

Brother Fludd, along with his late wife, nurtured foster children from 1968 until 1994.

After moving from New York City to Moncks Corner, SC, he was a transport driver for the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Center for many years. Brother Fludd continued to work and faithfully served at Truth Tabernacle Ministries until his health began to decline. He served on the Usher Board and sang with the Truth Tabernacle Men's Choir. Brother Fludd loved playing the harmonica and loved singing, especially his favorite song, Beulah Land. His favorite line of scripture was "The Lord ...is my Shepherd. I shall not...want."

"Travis", we want you to know how much we love and appreciate all you have done in our absence and for taking care of Daddy during his time of transitioning. We pray GOD will continue to strengthen you and us all. For we know, although absent from the body, he is present with the LORD!

A Tribute To Dad

With a smile on his face, and a Spirit of Grace,

A man of few words was he!

An occasional stutter would be laced in his speech,

A compassionate man we would see.

Loved by his family and his friends -

His patience would never end!

We call him: Father, A Good Provider…

Mother would add… "A faithful husband too! AMEN!!!!

He was a child of our Lord and our King.

He treated all with fairness, for the great blessings it would bring!

I will remember his love, and I will miss him so…

But most of all, I will never forget…

when he answered the phone

His signature voice… And his special "H-E-L-L-O-O-O!!!"

Love you, DAD

Robin Fludd
