Willie Joe McFadden, Jr., the son of the late Willie McFadden, Sr. and Alice Zanders McFadden, was born on September 5, 1936 in Williamsburg County, South Carolina. He departed this life on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at his sister's residence. He received his education in the public schools of Williamsburg County and completed his education while living in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was also employed as a chef while residing in Philadelphia. At the age of 16, Willie enlisted in the United States Army, serving three years in Germany and France. He later moved to Chicago, IL for seven years and worked at the Oranton Hotel in Evanston, IL. While visiting his oldest sister, Ruby Brown, she became concerned about her younger brother's soul salvation. Ruby enlisted the help of Ms. Nancy Harris to help council and lead him to the Lord. Nancy grew to love Willie as he became closer to God. Through her encouragement, Willie gave his life to the Lord in 1983 and also married Nancy Hazel Harris on September 23, 1983. After being baptized, Willie Joe became a Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent and was later ordained a Church Deacon. He was very active in the church, participating in Home Bible Study, raising funds for the church and being a spokesperson for the young and old men in the church; as well as maintaining the appearance of the church ground. Willie was always ready to assist in doing God's work. Many young and old men have learned a lot from Willie Joe's lifestyle.
