Mr. Wilson Paige, Sr. was born on February 8, 1945, to the union of Chester and Maude Jervey Paige. Wilson was educated in the Berkeley County School System. At an early age, he joined St. Peters A.M.E. Church, Bonneau, SC, where he served on the Trustee Board and was integral in the construction of the church edifice. Wilson enjoyed fishing, spending time with family, and traveling. He always had a concern for others' happiness and laughter. Mr. Paige was employed with the Charleston County Naval Base and the Department of Transportation for many years. At a later time, he became employed with Cumbie Tire Service in Bonneau, SC, from where he retired. Wilson peacefully departed this life on Monday, October 31, 2011, at Roper Mt. Pleasant Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Maude Paige; his wife, Julia Ann Paige; one granddaughter, Kimberly S. Paige; one sister, Shirley J. Paige; three brothers, Richard, Chester and Eddie Paige; and a daughter-in-law, Johnnie M. Paige. Mr. Wilson is survived by a loving, caring and devoted companion, Virginia McCray, Bonneau, SC; eight precious children: Willetta P. (Mahamadou) Tounkara, Moncks Corner, SC, Wilson S. Paige, Jr., Bonneau, SC, Jeanette P. (Hercules) Brown, Alvin, SC, William (Jona) Paige, Bonneau, SC, Delaine P. Wilford, St. Stephen, SC, Bridgette P. (Ronald) Gadsden, Bonneau, SC, Steven Cleveland, Pineville, SC and April Cleveland, Pineville, SC; mother-in-law, Daisy Woods, St. Stephen, SC; three brothers, Leroy (Jean) Paige, Bonneau, SC, Charles Paige, Bonneau, SC, and Micheal Paige, Landover, MD; one sister, Mary S. (Danzie) Seaward, Landover, MD; twenty-one grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a host of honorary family, honorary grandchildren, in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.
